Sunday Stills – color
January 18, 2009
The challenge this week was color – outside everything is drab brown and green, with cold blue sky. But when I come in after morning chores, the low winter sun is always on my breakfast dishing that are drying, and I am always delighted by the different color combinations.
I have collected vintage Fiesta for years, but it is so expensive now, I only use the new Fiesta that is readily available for everyday use.

The other colorful thing in the kitchen this week was cabbage. It reminds me of summer!

So pretty! A little color is such a treat this time of year…as far as that goes, so is some yummy cabbage!
Both are awesome photos.
Your fiesta ware is so pretty but the cabbage photo wins my vote. I just love that rich, color. ( I bet it tastes great too
Very creative!
These are beautiful photos. I especially love the Fiesta one. Guess what? I collect Fiesta too. How funny. One more thing in common between us! My grandmother used it for her everyday dishes. I think that’s where I acquired my love of it.
Great colorful photos, I like your dishes!
Excellent color!!! Your dishes are beautiful.
Oh, more FiestaWare!! I’m assuming this is very popular stuff. Great pic of the red cabbage!!
Nice! This is the second fiesta ware post I’ve seen today. Love the sun shining on yours.
This is a 3 love post – 1) love the Fiesta ware, 2) love the cabbage (my oldest daughter loves raw cabbage), and 3) love the sunshine. We’re supposed to get 5 days of that glorious glowing orb, and my mood is perking up as we speak. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
I like them both but the fiesta ware is my favorite in more ways than one
Beautiful dishes. Orange and deep yellow and saffron are colors I love to see anytime, but especially in the winter, so warm and rich. Eating from those dishes makes a gloomy day seem better I bet.
Ah, that is amazing. I love the play of the sunlight on the dishes.
I just rec’d a weather advisory email … hope you aren’t blowing away over there on your side of the mountain!
Great shot of the dishes, it looks so magazine ready!
oh man do you mean trappers creek ak? if so i am so happy as we are looking for land out there next month. Come on over and say hi!
Lovely!
Very nice, the sunlight on the fiestaware is brilliant…
That purple (red) cabbage looks vibrant and rich. Beautiful!
