Celebrating our own holiday

My baby is 15 today, and she shares my Mom’s birth date.  My goodness, where does the time go?   It seems just like yesterday that she was born.  Now she’s telling me what to do.  Sometimes I listen, and sometimes I don’t. :D

When I was pregnant with her, I worked at a small local hospital.  I wasn’t into natural childbirth, and could not for the life of me wrap my head around the breathing techniques at our birthing class.  She was 3 weeks late, determined to be on her own schedule.  During labor, I had to visit with the entire staff, and field phone calls from all my friends – everyone was waiting for the little angel.  I didn’t realize I knew how to keep a focal point and work through the pain, I have to say my labor was uneventful, and not too painful, I kept waiting for it to get worse, and it never did.  I never did need any pain medication.   She was born, with nary a hitch, leaving me and her father with a great birth experience.  Little did we know that was only the beginning.  Sigh.

My mom would laugh at the same birth date, too bad they didn’t get to meet.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Ruth Less and you too, Mom!

Three weeks late! Well, she definitely sounds like she was worth the wait! My older kids were born in the evening, and I tease them that they have to wait until their actual birth time to celebrate (of course we don’t actual make them wait!). How very special that she shares her grandma’s birthday; what a great connection that is. I wonder how her grandma celebrated her own 15th birthday, or how you and HD celebrated your 15th birthday’s. Happy birthday to Ruth Less; hope all of you have a wonderful day today!

Sweet, sweet, sweet story…for a sweet girl/young lady? I’m sure she is…I know her photography skills are sweet!
Never, ever would have thought you wouldn’t be one for natural childbirth…simply shocking.
Happy Birthday Ruth less. Maybe I will pop over to her blog and tell her myself.
