Only a true farmer would “get” the pride and satisfaction of seeing a young calf begin to chew the cud. We are like eager parents around when we see a day-old eating hay and grain or a newbie drinking from the water bowl or any calf ruminating at a young age. Good job!
What beautiful markings Lola and Jane have…they are just SO SWEET! Loved the video and will have to show that to my family of animal lovers. I hope you get a break from the rain today…good luck. Maura
Oh, I love the kissin’ calves! So sweet. Glad development is progressing. They both are so darn cute! Hope our Oregon sun comes back soon. No gardening here yet. *sniffle*
What a great video. You put so much effort and energy into the care of your cows, and it clearly is paying off over and over. Hooray for the first steps to a strong grazer and another strong cow
Such a special little animal. I’ve never had cows, but did raise a colt when I was in high school. It was a wonderful experience, especially for a city girl.

The video is so cute! Can’t help but love the babies.
Is that their first time to meet one another? Lola and Jane are adorable.
Why don’t you send that rain to east Texas? Just saying.

Your girls are just beautiful! And hooray for cud chewing! – words I never imagined I’d say.
Jane and Lola make great friends!!! They are beautiful!!!
Lola is a pretty little thing too! Maybe it’s the great big eyes?
The video nearly eclipsed how cute that first picture is of big cow, little cow.
Wow, Jane is getting big!

Great photo and video!
You teach farming in so many ways. Thank you!

How different they are in build! I notice Jane has a heart on her right foreleg as well as her face.
What a pretty calf! So cute.
