The second picture with the rows of hay and the dark woods is amazing.
Reminds me of….
“The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.”
-Robert Frost
It’s a great feeling when those bales are popping out of the baler and the sun is still shining. Should be doing ours tomorrow.
Lots of new growth coming up in your field already, but then there’s so much moisture in the ground:)
So glad you got some hay done! How did it turn out?
The strangest thing here. The guy who makes the hay from a neighbor’s field just turned up to cut the hay. It’s the first day it’s rained in about two weeks and there’s at least some rain promised for every day for about a week. Just like last year. Fifteen miles one way to get here and it’ll rain on the hay every day.
Some magpies seem to have found their way to spreading the cow pies and eating the larvae around here lately
Still haying, the first batch is pretty nice, the second one now is waiting for sunnier days to dry No rain, just morning clouds off the ocean combined with shorter days…
"Whole cultures have risen and fallen because they couldn't figure out how to make all the area like the good spot, and instead made all the good spots like the bad ones." Joel Salatin, Salad Bar Beef
Glad to see at least someone is getting hay in. Down here, only the irrigated stuff is coming in. It’s going to be a hard winter.
Great pictures! Hugs, Bobbi Jo
