Winter is Here

First snow, first power outage, had to quit holding out lighting the cookstove.

I’m thankful for a well-stocked larder, lots firewood, and my 4 x4 among other things.

Hmm, you are introducing me to all sorts of new music that I didn’t realize I would like. Snowing here too.

I liked the original version too, and then I heard this. :) Yep, still snowing this morning, but not piling up much…

Great video, really made me smile, thanks! Vocals are the most expressive and beautiful instrument in my opinion. Very spirited vocals up there. I think I’ll look for more of their music :) Chumbawamba did two albums with vocals at the center some years back. Had a number of good songs there. Also, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s perhaps the most powerful voice that I know of. Never understood a word of it, but still takes my breath away.

Everyone except the rabbits are inside here and liking it, but still no winter. Only light frosts. Funny how in the summertime the milking barn’s just too dark to think anyone could enjoy their time there despite the lights, but now that it’s winter and the daylight hours are already down to seven, it’s absolutely inviting in there :)

do you have your power back? Glad you can stay warm etc without it! The good thing about this video ( besides that their harmonies are really good) is you don’t need power to make music like this. ;>)

I love Little Big Town. Glad to hear you were prepare. We keep flashlights, headlamps, water and the 4×4 at the ready living in the Sierras. Had a Wildfire here Friday – in the heart of a residential area of town and then woke up to snow Saturday and Sunday. Tis the Season!

WOOO! That song always gives me goosebumps (I teach high school, so sadly I am all too aware of how desperately young people need to hear the “love yourself” message), and I LOVE a tight, kick-ass band – especially when it includes wicked harmonies and a banjo! Thanks!!!!!
