Stick a Fork in Me
July 1, 2014
Us poor old Oregonians wilt a bit when the temperatures reach the 90’s.
Extra water today and a little shade for the cows.
Not much short grass to be found around here this time of year.
Yesterday I forgot my water pipes…and decided it was easier to walk back to the house and get them instead of opening gates and driving. I complained about 86F, today at 95F I remembered.
Done. The cows head for shade and so do I.
Garden weeding post almost done, it’s too hot to weed 😉

Closing in on 80º here on the coast… just too damned hot!
Exactly! I see a gin and tonic in my evening plans…
We have had a couple of very hot and muggy days back here in Western New York too. Muggy and a heat advisory. Feel sorry for the horses.
Had to go to town today, Yreka, CA. Went real early. It was 102 when I got home at 1 p.m. At 3 p.m. we could hear thunder. Lots of haying going on in the valley. We have been hitting the garden and the weeds at 6 a.m. Our weed of choice, ha, is the dreaded Purslane. At least it doesn’t put out runners. They have said it is edible, but haven’t ever tried to eat it. Not even sure how to fix it. Looking forward to your garden weeding post. Have a great 4th of July!
To be 90’s today, so I’m up real early to get as much done before it gets real hot. Temps to 70’s on Friday. Hope I don’t melt away before then….
