Recuperation Day for Grady

August 26, 2014

Well, actually about a week.

He’s wearing his cone of silence, and we are trying to keep him quiet for about a week…not easy to do with an Aussie who takes his garden job quite seriously.  Luckily with the temps climbing into the 90’s, he can just chill in his favorite spot under the bin table and watch us churn butter and blanch cauliflower.

The older boys are smirking on the porch.

Yes, it does slow them down for a while. Sure makes them easier to live with in the long run, though.

It’s the eyes that get to you, with the how could you! Did chuckle. Lovely picture and even more lovely in a jar.

The best part is when you go back to pick them up they think you have “saved” them. Grady made friends with all the techs yesterday, what a flirt! The coyotes will be playing for a while now.

Boys are such woosies! My lovely lady dog (Sunny, red heeler) had her internals tampered with by the vet and never looked back. We just made sure that we kept her away from the cattle for a week or so, or the temptation to herd animals that didn’t really need it would have been too high.

Yeah, keeping him quiet is a pain. Our girls have kept it to their selves, despite the pain. I’m liking the fellas though for deer repellent in the garden they do a much better job than the females, and the female cats are better hunters. Gotta have a mix, I guess.

Smiles. You have a way with words; I luv your humour. Reminds me of my own Mum.
